Xcel Energy is allowing Colorado Community Church to construct our much-needed Overflow Parking Lot on their land just to the north of our new facility across Jewell Avenue. On Wednesday evening, January 9, 2019, the Aurora Planning Commission gave final, unanimous approval for this project! Once we finalize some technical issues we will be able to move forward this spring with constructing this parking lot. This is an AMAZING provision…

  • To have Xcel Energy (a for-profit, public utility) graciously and generously allow us to use seven acres of their land…
  • AND to allow us get this land rezoned…
  • AND to allow us to build a suitable parking structure on it…
  • AND to grant us a 20-year lease on the closest-to-us (southern) part of it…
  • AND to only charge us $100 per month for its use (on land located right by an interstate and right next to our facility!)…
  • AND to donate their time and energy to help make this happen…
  • AND for our engineers to be able to figure out how to do it in a safe, cost-effective manner…
  • AND to have the city of Aurora vote to approve this project…twice
  • AND to have the vote be unanimoustwice…I mean, WOW!

This kind of thing just DOES NOT happen every day! Might we say, “Only God!”?
