As of March 15, 2018 our purchase contract with the owner lapsed when the owner refused to provide a purchase-price concession to help cover a portion of the almost $1M in deferred maintenance we discovered during our contract due diligence period. The board discussed these deferred maintenance discoveries thoroughly and determined our price-concession request was fair and was in keeping with a responsible use of the church’s resources.
While we are no longer under a purchase contract, we continue to sense the Lord leading us to walk forward in faith. We know and believe He is able to make a way forward though this particular door has closed for now. We remain in communication with the owner to keep him aware of our continued interest in the facility. We also learned the building could become available in a foreclosure sale and are making preparations to bid for its purchase should this come about.
