21 DAYS OF PRAYER
Scripture: And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God ask of you but to fear the Lord your God, to walk in obedience to him, to love him, to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, Deuteronomy 10:12
Prayer: Father, we thank you that it is your desire for us to love you. Teach us to love you the way you want to be loved knowing that sincere obedience and service stem from our love for you.
Scripture: “Because he loves me,” says the Lord, “I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. Psalm 91:14
Prayer: Father, we thank you that our love for you moves you to bless and protect us. Teach us how to live our lives in a manner that shows you how much we love you in all that we say and do.
Scripture: so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, Ephesians 3:17-18
Prayer: Lord Jesus when we think of the never-ending, unconditional love that you have for us we are filled with a sense of wonder. Help us to seek to understand in our minds and experience in our lives the vastness of the love you have for us.
Scripture: I love the Lord, for he heard my voice; he heard my cry for mercy. Psalm 116:1
Prayer: Father because we love you and more importantly because you love us we can live confidently in the knowledge that you the creator of the universe and king of heaven will hear our prayers from heaven and comfort us in our time of need.
Scripture: See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him. 1 John 3:1
Prayer: Father, we stand in amazement that the love you have for us is go great that we are called your children. We thank you that you love us even when we disobey you as children often do.
Scripture: A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. John 13:34
Prayer: Lord Jesus we thank you that you that you not only gave us a command to love one another but you also gave us the standard. Teach us to love one another in the same way that you love us, unconditionally, completely and eternally.
Scripture: And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching. Hebrews 10:24-25
Prayer: Lord Jesus we thank you that iron sharpens iron. Please help us grow together in our love for you and seek opportunities to encourage one another in our faith in your finished work on the cross and our hope that the time of your return is near.
Scripture: Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn. Romans 12:15
Prayer: Father open our eyes to what is going on in the lives or our fellow worshippers as we come in contact with them during our times of fellowship and grow us up as a community of believers in Christ who rejoice with each other in times of joy and sympathize with each other in times of sorrow.
Scripture: But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. 1 Peter 2:9
Prayer: Lord we thank you that you called us out of darkness into your wonderful light and gave us access to you so that we can declare your praises. Please help us as a community to grasp what a wonderful blessing it is to be able to come to you in prayer for others as well as ourselves. May your praises continually be in our mouths.
Scripture: All the believers were together and had everything in common. They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. Acts 2:44-45
Prayer: Father we thank you that as a community the most important thing we have in common is our love for you and because we love you we love and care for each other. Please teach to be a church community that makes provisions to care for those in need within our congregation.
Scripture: Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved. Acts 2:46-47
Prayer: Father we thank you for the shared experience when we worship together as a community of believers. We are grateful that these experiences are the foundation that enable us to go outside of the church walls and honor you with our lives to the point that others want to be saved. Help us to always be good ambassadors for Christ.
Scripture: “My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. John 17:20-21
Prayer: Lord Jesus, thank you for praying for those who deliver the message of your saving grace and those who receive it. We pray that as a community of believers we constantly seek opportunities to proclaim the message of your saving grace and that unbelievers will hear the message and believe that the Father sent you to take away the sins of the world.
Scripture: Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. Hebrews 11:1
Prayer: Lord, we seek to grow in our faith in you and your word. Please help us to live our lives with the assurance and expectation that you are in control of everything, seen and unseen, that affects our lives and to trust you completely in every situation.
Scripture: By faith Abraham, when God tested him, offered Isaac as a sacrifice. He who had embraced the promises was about to sacrifice his one and only son, Hebrews 11:17
Prayer: Father, please help us grow to have the faith to completely trust you in every situation in our lives. Even to the point of being willing to give up something we believe was a long-awaited blessing from you.
Scripture: Then he touched their eyes and said, “According to your faith let it be done to you” Matthew 9:29
Prayer: Father for those times in our lives when the cares of the world overwhelm us to point that we feel like we are blindly groping for answers touch our eyes so that we can see clearly to put our faith in you.
Scripture: So keep up your courage, men, for I have faith in God that it will happen just as he told me. Acts 27:25
Prayer: Lord, in the face of trials and struggles it can be hard to hold fast to the truths we know you have revealed to us. Please give us the strength to have faith that this too will work out just as you said it would.
Scripture: He replied, “Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” Matthew 17:20
Prayer: Father, forgive us for those times in our lives when our faith is small because we think a situation is too big. Help us to remember that we serve you, the faithful and all-powerful God, who is in control of everything and in whom all things are possible.
Scripture: Clearly no one who relies on the law is justified before God, because “the righteous will live by faith.” Galatians 3:11
Prayer: Father we thank you that we are made righteous in your sight not by our works or deeds but by our complete faith and belief that our justification is through the death and resurrection of Jesus for our sins. Help us to live our lives in a manner that reflects our belief.
Scripture: Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ. Romans 10:17
Prayer: Lord, thank you that our faith is both the single moment when we first believed and a continuing attitude for life that must grow and be strengthened. Please help us to eagerly seek opportunities to hear, study and read your word so that we will continue to grow in our faith.
